Ormesa Birillo Sitting/Walking Frame
The Ormesa Birillo is a combined walking and seated mobility frame designed to support young children in developing movement, exploration and independence in a safe and engaging way. It allows children to move actively using their legs while remaining seated, making it an ideal early mobility solution when full weight-bearing or sustained standing is not yet achievable.
The Birillo’s triangular seated positioning supports head and trunk alignment while helping to limit excessive hip and trunk extension. This positioning encourages an upright posture and provides a stable base for movement. An integrated abduction block helps maintain pelvic alignment within the triangular sitting position, supporting spinal alignment and effective lower limb use.
Supplied as standard with latex-free seat and back cushions, the Birillo promotes comfort and postural support while encouraging active participation. The adjustable abductor, handlebar, and height-adjustable frame allow the device to be customised to the child’s needs and accommodate growth over time.
Optional accessories such as a headrest and activity table can be added to increase postural support and enable engagement in play, learning and therapy activities.
The Ormesa Birillo is a valuable tool for therapists, educators and families, supporting the development of strength, endurance and mobility through active movement. It is recommended for children with mild to moderate physical disabilities, typically aged 2 to 8 years, and is available in four sizes.
