At APEX Mobility and Motion Composites, we believe that everyone deserves access to life-changing Assistive Technology - equipment that’s not just functional, but empowering. The right wheelchair can unlock confidence, freedom, and dignity.  That’s why we’re proud to launch Wishes for Wheels in Australia - a program that gifts high-performance, custom-fitted manual wheelchairs to those who need them most, but can’t access them through traditional funding or support.

What is Wishes for Wheels?

This global initiative, founded by Motion Composites, provides ultralightweight manual wheelchairs to individuals whose lives would be transformed by a custom chair - but who may not have the means to get one.  Now launching in Australia, one recipient will be selected every three months to receive a brand-new Motion Composites wheelchair - celebrated for its lightweight design, durability, and cutting-edge engineering.

After years of success in Canada and the United States, APEX Mobility is proud to bring Wishes for Wheels to Australia - partnering with local clinicians and community networks to identify truly deserving recipients. For the first time ever, APEX Mobility is bringing this game-changing initiative Down Under - and we’re inviting you to be part of it.  Whether you’re a clinician, a carer, a family member, or a manual wheelchair user - you can apply or nominate someone who deserves the chance to experience life in a Motion Composites wheelchair.  Even better, we’ll be giving away one Motion Composites wheelchair every 3 months to a deserving recipient, helping to change lives all year round.

Elibility Criteria

To apply, individuals must:

• Be a current manual wheelchair user OR not currently have access to an appropriate manual wheelchair, for any reason, and whose lack of access significantly limits their independence or quality of life
• Reside in Australia
• Be unable to access or fund or have funding for a high-quality, ultralightweight wheelchair through existing channels
• Clearly demonstrate how a Motion Composites chair would enhance their mobility and quality of life

Important Dates - Round 1 Giveaway

• Information Pack Release: 28 May 2025 (Includes full eligibility criteria, application form, and T&Cs)
• Applications Open: 1 June 2025
• Applications Close: 24 August 2025
• Recipient Announced: 8 September 2025
• Fitting & Script Due: 30 September 2025

*Applicants must live in Australia and must be a wheelchair users when they apply. The application must be completed by the applicant or on behalf of the applicant with their permission and submitted online.

*Wishes for Wheels applications are reviewed quarterly. If you are not chosen, you may reapply during the next review period. Applications can be submitted each quarter.
