If your mobility status or funding situation changes significantly before your wheelchair is delivered, it may affect your eligibility. To avoid delays, please ensure all information provided is complete and accurate, avoid last-minute changes, and maintain clear and timely communication with our team. Common avoidable delays include incomplete or incorrect information, lack of communication, last-minute changes, and incorrect or unconfirmed delivery details. If these or other avoidable delays occur during the process, APEX Mobility may need to reassign the opportunity to another applicant.
What growth options are available for the Wishes for Wheels recipient?
We understand that needs can change over time, especially for growing children, young adults, or those that may experience a change in their condition or needs. To support our Wishes for Wheels recipients, options are available to ensure your wheelchair continues to meet your needs.
Recipients of a Motion Composites Helio KIDS wheelchair are eligible for a free growth kit within the first five years of ownership. This allows the child to continue using their high-performance wheelchair as they grow, without weighing them down with built in growth or needing to replace the entire chair. The growth kit includes carbon crossbraces, crossbrace links, a seat sling, back upholstery, front riggings, and footplates.
For recipients of an Apex Rigid wheelchair, the EVO Rigid Adaptive Growth Program is being offered, this can be selected at the time of scripting and available with in the first two years of ownership. This gives the wheelchair user the peace of mind, knowing that any changes in condition won’t leave them with an ill-fitting chair. This program provides a new base frame suited to the users’ new measurements and allows the transfers of existing components.
Both options above include a professional review and scripting of the new base frame matching the user’s needs, ensuring safety, comfort and function, so that your Motion Composites chair continues to support your independence and lifestyle.
Can I apply if I’ve been a recipient in the past?
To ensure fairness and reach more people, past recipients are not eligible to apply again.
Can I return or exchange the wheelchair later?
Due to the custom nature of the wheelchair, returns and exchanges are not permitted, except for warranty-covered repairs or replacement.
What’s the benefit for dealers or suppliers who help?
This program is a chance for dealers and therapists to make a real difference in someone's life. While they’re not paid for their time, they gain:
• The opportunity to give back to the community
• Positive exposure through APEX Mobility’s media and promotional channels
• A meaningful role in changing someone’s mobility journey for the better
How long is the wheelchair covered under warranty?
• Wheelchair frame: as per product warranty details
• Seating components: as per product warranty details plus a one-time replacement within 5 years
• Labour for repairs may incur a cost depending on the agreement with your chosen supplier.
Will my personal information be shared?
As part of the Wishes for Wheels program, successful applicants agree to have their name, photo(s), video of using the chair, and personal story shared across various marketing channels. This may include (but is not limited to) our website, social media platforms, email campaigns, and printed materials, with the goal of promoting the program and raising awareness of its impact.
