Welcome to this month’s edition of the APEX Mobility dealer newsletter. Coming right off the back from a successful APEXPO-2022 and ATSA Sydney, we are also looking forward to Source Kids Melbourne next weekend (18-19 June).
In this month’s edition, we will be discussing current and upcoming APEX Mobility marketing campaigns, pricing updates, and three products in focus: the Madita Fun high-low indoor chair from Schuchmann, the new Klaxon Twist, and changes to the Kidoo Positioning Chair.
PRICING UPDATE
Firstly as to pricing. APEX Mobility group our costs into: (a) equipment purchases from factories around the world, (b) the cost to get that equipment to and into Australia, and (c) the cost to run our Australian operation (wages, fuel, rent, etc). As being the TGA Australian Sponsor for over 24 brands, we typically see a price rise from one or two manufacturers per month. In the last few months, especially since the Russian invasion of Ukraine, we have seen a dramatic increase. This seems to be because of the negative impact this war has had on raw materials (steel, plastic, timber, etc), as well as adding to the pressure on global shipping and labour costs. Additionally, the cost of living continues to increase globally, and living here in Australia we are definitely not exempt. Inflation continues at over 5%, and import costs are higher than ever before. We have reviewed these costs in conjunction with manufacturer price increases on individual brands, and will be passing individual price rises of between 4% and 11% across most of our brands, effective 1 August 2022. We are giving our dealers 6 weeks’ notice of these increases, and will be working hard between now and August to ensure all our price lists and script forms are updated to reflect the price increases before they come into effect.
NEW MARKETING CAMPAIGN: 24 HOUR POSITIONING
Next on marketing. We are continuing to showcase leading brands and models from our amazing range, using print publications (namely Source Kids and Link magazines), social media (Facebook and LinkedIn), digital updates (Freedom to Live and Source Kids), exhibitions, and more. You will notice we are currently talking a lot about 24 hour positioning, which is a training and clinical consultation approach that takes in all times of the client’s day, to ensure that all types of activities are considered when guiding a client, from sleep, showering, toileting, eating, transferring, relaxing, working, exercising, and more. In each of our 24 hour positioning advertisements you will see we have featured different items of equipment, helping clients see what different equipment can be sourced from their local Approved APEX Dealer. You will also see major marketing campaigns on particular models; we are currently showcasing the Schuchmann Madita Fun and the new Klaxon Twist. Read on to learn more about these items!

NEW PRODUCT UPDATE: KLAXON TWIST
ast month we unveiled the new Klaxon TWIST at APEXPO-2022. The Co-Founder of Klaxon Mobility, Andrea Stella, proudly demonstrated this innovative power-assist device for manual wheelchairs. With its unique, compact design, the TWIST can be mounted out the front of the wheelchair, or underneath, to give drive from the rear.

PRODUCT UPDATE: KIDOO POSITIONING CHAIR
Please note that there has been an update to the design of the Kidoo Positioning Chair backrest that impacts the mounting of the lateral supports. The updated design does not have the mounting slots on the side of the frame which means that the lateral supports now mount to the front of the backrest plate.
